Red Panda Particle Delay Pedal Review – 2019 Edition
Too often, I’ve purchased devices to enhance my guitar playing that haven’t lived up to my expectations. After these purchases, I always wished someone would have told me what company names I could rely on to make a good investment and avoid wasting my money.

Things to Consider Before Buying the Red Panda Particle
Different guitar pedals produce different sounds, so it’s important to consider what type of music you’d like to create. This pedal will solve the age-old problem of having too few abstract settings on your device but will take some time to learn all of its features.
If you’re new to pedals, you may want to start with a more simple device. Here are some basics of delay pedals. Additionally, this may not be the pedal for you if you prefer traditional pedal sounds.

Red Panda Particle Pedal
The Particle pedal is a granular delay/ pitch shifter pedal. That means that this pedal will take your audio, cut it into pieces, and then delay the pitch.
This Particle is unique compared to other granular delay pedals, making it a great choice if you want a bright, glitchy sound. This pedal can sound quite abstract and might not be for you if you want a traditional sound.

The Red Panda Particle has so many great features that you can combine together to create unique sounds.
The Delay/Pitch knob at the top of your Particle pedal sets the delay time and ranges from zero to 500 milliseconds in length. The greater the delay time, the more you’ll hear the effects of your pedal. If you prefer only a slight change in tone from the guitar’s natural, stick to lower delay times.
Remember those grains of sound the Particle pedal produces after chopping up your audio signal? The Param knob will control how dense those grains of sound are. You can then experiment by adjusting both the Param knob and the Chop knob to produce clipped sounds. The Blend knob will then adjust the wet/dry effect of your sound.
You can also fine tune your sound through your delay and pitch modes. Let’s take a look at the delay settings:
The Particle’s “Dens” setting will control the density of your delay effects. By adjusting this knob, you can experiment with a very static sound, or create sound with a bubbling quality.
The LFO setting will add additional low frequency oscillations to your delay effects. By turning this setting all the way up, you’ll hear your signal begin to oscillate. You’ll be able to create an ambient sound
This setting will give you the ability to playback your grains of sound in reverse. This will give you a very clipped sound since the decay will be played back first and the sound will end with the initial pluck and sound quite abrupt.

The Random Pitch setting on your Particle pedal will create harmony ranging from one octave below or one octave above the pitch that you’re playing. The random pitches emitted will create a shimmering sound, especially when playing arpeggios.
This setting will create random fluctuations of delay time, creating a much more unorganized and abstract sound. The setting will allow you to create a progressively more messy sound the more you turn up this setting.
The Pitch/Detune setting will allow you to create eerie and surreal sounds with your guitar. This setting will take your grains of sound and randomly detune them. You can play with the intensity of this effect with the Param knob on the top of your device. This is a great setting for musicians who are looking to create an abstract sound.

The Pitch Density mode will allow you to adjust the intensity of your pitch delay alterations. With this setting, you’ll be able to hear the delays transition from a shimmery sound to a much more dense sound that will make it difficult to differentiate between delays.

The Pitch LFO setting will allow you to turn one note into a series of oscillating notes to create a shimmering effect. This LFO mode will create less of an ambient sound than the Delay LFO mode.
